■ステートメント
ノーベル賞は、ダイナマイトによって巨万の富を築いたAlfred Nobelが、その矛盾や歴史的評価を意識し創設したとも語られてきた。
つまりその起源自体が、「破壊」と「平和」という二重性を内包する。

トランプ大統領は、以前から自らがノーベル平和賞受賞に値すると繰り返し発言し、周囲による推薦演出も行われてきた。
さらにワシントンポストでは、「トランプは強くノーベル平和賞を欲している」とも報じられていた。
しかしその一方で、彼の政治は他国への武力的圧力、軍事力を背景とした外交、さらには兵器流通や安全保障ビジネスと不可分な構造の上に成り立っている。
「平和とは誰の利益によって定義されるのか」
「平和賞とは、何を称賛しているのか」
という問いを、ノーベル平和賞メダルという“最も権威的な平和の記号”を用いて可視化するものである。

メダルをモデルにした本作に刻まれた“NO VEIL OVER THE PROFIT OF — ”という文言は、「利益のためには、もはやベールを被らない」という意味を持つと同時に、“NOBEL”を崩した“NO VEIL”という言葉遊びでもある。

■Statement
The Nobel Prize has been said to have been established by Alfred Nobel, who amassed a vast fortune through dynamite, with an awareness of the contradictions and historical implications of his actions.
In other words, its very origin embodies the duality of "destruction" and "peace."

President Trump has repeatedly stated that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, and there have been staged nominations from those around him.
Furthermore, the Washington Post reported that "Trump strongly desires the Nobel Peace Prize."
However, his politics are built upon a structure inseparable from military pressure on other countries, diplomacy backed by military power, and the arms trade and security business.

This aims to visualize the questions, "By whose interests is peace defined?" and "What does the Peace Prize celebrate?" using the Nobel Peace Prize medal, the "most authoritative symbol of peace."

The phrase "NO VEIL OVER THE PROFIT OF —" inscribed on this medal-shaped piece means "We will no longer be veiled for the sake of profit," and at the same time, it is a wordplay on "NOBEL" by breaking it down to "NO VEIL."
